Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT Bhopal), also known as National Institute of Technology, Bhopal (NIT Bhopal, NIT-B), formerly Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT) and Regional Engineering College Bhopal, is an Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal, is named after the renowned educationalist and scholar, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, former Union Education Minister, Government of India. The foundation stone of the Institute building was laid by the Prime Minister late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 23rd April 1961.

The Institute started with five years degree program in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical.

1963 - five year program in Architecture (B. Arch)
1970 to 1971 - M. Tech part time
1972 - Bachelor degree program in Electronics and Communication
1981 - Full time M.Tech course on Stress and Vibration
1986 to 1987 - Bachelor degree in Computer science and Engineering and three years MCA program
2001 - B. Tech course in IT
2006 - Masters of Business Administration (MBA)

MANIT Bhopal Admission Process

For the undergraduate courses the admission is through the national level engineering entrance examination — JEE Main. The admission for NRI and foreign students is through the DASA scheme.

For the postgraduate courses the entry is through GATE for MTech, NIMCET for MCA or through an institute conducted entrance test.

The admission to Master of Business Administration courses are done through CAT.
