The National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) which was established by the Rashtriya Vidhi Sansthan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam is recognized by the University Grants Commission and the Bar Council of India.

Academic Courses in NLIU


B.A.LL.B.(HONS.)
Duration: 5 years

There are three trimesters in a year and each trimester is of three months duration. In each trimester, students are taught four core subjects and at least two skill papers including Computer, English, Legal Writing, and Accountancy. Admission is done through CLAT

LLM
Duration: 1 year
The University offers specialization in Human Rights, Intellectual Property & Business Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Business Law and Criminal Law. 

PhD
Duration: 2 years
Admission to Ph.D. programme is through an entrance test conducted by the University.

Non Credit Courses

The University also offers to its B.A.LL.B (Hons.) and LL.M. students non-credit courses such as Competition Law, Comparative Jurisprudence, International Commercial Arbitration, Global Terrorism, Cyber Law, Law and Economics, Maritime Law, etc.

RGNCLC

Rajiv Gandhi National Cyber Law Center, a Centre of Excellence in cyber law and information technology. Its main was to develop professional, expertise and skilled manpower to match with contemporary challenges emerging in relevance with cyber space & cyber security. It will enable legal and technical experts to efficiently regulate and create opportunities to meet economic challenges posed by the rapid technology movement, which is influencing virtually every area of development and social activity.

Centre for Business and Commercial Laws, NLIU

The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws was established in 2008 with the aim to generate corporate awareness and facilitating research. It provides several avenues to the students to explore the realm of business and corporate laws and develop the foundations required to be a successful practitioner in the field.
