The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior was established by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur on 19th August 2008 as the second Agricultural University of the state. The research activities of the University are operated through five Zonal Agricultural Research Stations (Morena, Khargone, Jhabua, Indore and Sehore); four Regional Agricultural Research Stations (Gwalior, Mandsaur, Ujjain and Khandwa) and 4 special research stations (Entkhedi, Bagwai, Jaora and Badwah) having 22 All India Coordinated Research Projects and several adhoc projects to enhance the productivity and profitability of agriculture system. Transfer of technology is the part of extension activities carried out by 21 Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

To conduct education research and extension activities for enhancing productivity optimization of profit and sustainability of agricultural production system and improving rural livelihood in Madhya Pradesh.

To serve as a centre of higher education and research in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. To disseminate technology to farmers, extension personnel and organizations engaged in agricultural development through various extension programmes.

Admission of Candidates to Bachelor Degree Course shall be made through the entrance test being conducted by Professional Examination Board, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (VYAPAM, Bhopal). Candidates selected by ICAR entry test shall be admitted over and above the prescribed sears from time to time.

Admission of candidates to master and Ph.D. programmes shall be made on merit basis. However. Preference will be given to the students of this V.V. the requirement of minimum OGPA/percentage of marks for admission to master and Ph. D. Degree programmes.

The Central Library of Rajmata Vijyaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Gwalior plays a pivotal role in dissemination of information across the University. The computerization of all the e-libraries of Vishwa Vidyalaya has made the function smoother now; therefore each and every user is assisted promptly. Currently hours around 9712 Printed books, 1298 Gifted books comprises of collection includes textbook, Reference books, 139 e-books, 52 e-journals & 07 Printed journals and 1538 thesis for the UG, PG and Ph.D. Curriculum in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and other disciplines.
